Nigel Haywood

I was born and bred near Southampton, England, and became a visitor to Florida after an adventure in a motor home I bought in Arizona. From there we drove down to San Diego and spent six months crossing the country, passing through Salt lake City, Las Vegas, Galveston, and ending up in Key West.

In the spring of 2003, I came over to buy a vacation condo, and found one on St. Pete Beach. My realtor, who was a friend of mine from England, invited me to a friend-of-a-friend’s 40th birthday party. That friend was Pepper, who had just met and become friends with the realtor as a result of buying her house in Maximo. Pepper is now my beautiful wife.

I love the quiet neighborhood we live in, along with the friendly people. A recent promotion means that easy access to the Interstate and local airports is a real bonus. I became involved in the Maximo board as a result of my wife joining, but I do enjoy keeping our neighborhood looking good, and feel that the improvements we have made in the last few years show and are well worth the modest annual fee. As a sailor since the age of ten, moving to Florida certainly seemed like a move to Paradise.
