Crime Watch, Block Captains,  and Condos Board Liaison

I was born in Astoria, Long Island and lived in New York until I moved to Florida in 1987.  I moved to Hollywood, Florida, after which I relocated to St. Petersburg in 1999.

I believe I have a very diversified background.  At age 16, in 1944, I went to work for the Western Electric Co.  After one year, I enlisted in the U.S. Marines.  I was in the Marines from 1945-1949.  When I returned home, I married in 1951 and had five children.  In 1955, I enlisted in the U.S. National Guard, Smithtown, Long Island, New York.  I taught Special Skills to West Point Officers and the Officers and Enlisted men of my Division.  I achieved the rant of Platoon Sgt.

At the same time as I was in the National Guard, I was still working for Western Electric.  Later, I worked for AT&T at a Quality Auditor.  They sent me to work in Korea for several months on special projects.

I later remarried and had two more children for a total of seven great kids.  We lived in Elmont, Long Island, New York.

There I became a Division Leader for the Elmont Civilian Patrol, which consisted of four Divisions with 84 patrol cars.

We moved to the East Coast of Florida in 1987.  Divorced again, and moved here to St. Petersburg in 1999.

My hobby is writing, and I’m an author of the novel, Operation Cat Scam.  I also have written and self-published over 30 children’s books under the name Charles Francis.

I am the Neighborhood Watch Coordinator at the Moorings of Maximo Condos.  The neighborhood is in need of people getting involved to keep it the best place to live.  I hope I can help make our community a safer place we can all be proud of and love.  I have also been given the task of creating a group of Block Captains for our Civic Association.  Please contact me for more information.
